Kathy Thompson Family Shelter

The families seeking help in these economic times is changing, with more newly unemployed asking for help. Increasing numbers of infants and very young children are being sheltered in the family shelter with their parent(s). There are many triggers for homelessness: an eviction, an increase in rent, the loss of a job, a health tragedy, or domestic violence. A lot of people are living very close to the edge.

The objective is not for families to remain in shelter but to move families back into their own homes and into the community.
